I’m getting a hazy plate and what appears to be an inconsistant (based on how my black chromate looks after I dip) heres my numbers

1. Base metal of your part steel
2. Surface area of your part 1" sq on each side = total 2"
3. Which kit you are using zink / copy cad (have added 1 tsp of brightener)
4. Amperage used .14 per sq inch = .28-.29
5. Voltage used .8
6. Temperature of your bath 110 deg F
7. Duration of 30 min
8. power supply adjustable volt and amp DC power supply 10 amp
9. surface prep was polish with buff blk emery compound degrease in sp degreaser, pickle #1, water break test, rinse in distilled then into tank.
10. What exactly went wrong. Im getting a haze or dull finish some rubs off but still a fair amount left when I black chromate I get a streaky kind of look and areas that are darker than others. I have questions on the chromate also but I will post a different thread for that. BTW I’m not new to , I have and still use the copper, nickle, and a decorative chrome system. I am currently working with test pieces and want to get the system working prior to my final hardware and this forrum has been very helpful in the past. thanks in advance!!
