Zinc Plate Prep?

How would I go about preping some parts to be zinc plated? Im doing some motorcycle wheel hubs and various nuts and bolts. I don’t want a flat (silver spraypaint) look when finished so what would be the best method to prep these parts to obtain a smooth finish? Just glass bead blast and then use a fine wire wheel to slighty polish the part and then its ready for plating?
