Super Newbie questions.

Hi, I am looking into buying a plating kit to take care of a few pistols, but I am unsure as to which kit to purchase, I have been looking at the pick a kit and I am fairly certian that I want the electroless nickel, but don’t know what size to get, in all I will be doing 2 standard 1911’s, 2 Para Ordinance 1911’s, 1 S&W model 29 3in revolver, a baby eagle (Jericho) and 2 EAA witness pistols, so in all 8 full size pistols, I dont foresee needing it again for quite some time so I dont want to get too large of a kit and have the chemicals go to waste before I use the rest, but I also dont want to get too small of a kit and have to wait for a recharge kit.

also, I am slightly hesitant, how durable is the electroless nickel? a few of these pistols are daily carry, and will be in and out of the holster (leather) regularly, and I just want to be sure that it will hold up.

small question about surface prep, I do not want a shiny finish, and was planning on bead blasting, or silica sand blasting then plating, is this acceptable? will that have an adverse effect on the durability?

Titanium, I also have a Taurus titanium revolver that the blue finish looks pretty sad on, will the EN kit work on this pistol also? any special preparation needed? and on the revolvers, do I simply use rubber plugs to seal the barrel while plating?

one final question, is there any way to achieve the "black" chrome look with a home kit?

I do apologize for all the newbie questions, I just want to make sure that I get the right things for my application, and I really do thank you in advance for the help!
