Severe Orange peel on on part but not the other done at the same time

Hey guys,

Some of you remember my thread me asking about spoke holes on a motorcycle hub and I appreciate you wising me up there. I got around to powder coating these parts (2 hubs = 4 pieces). To prevent powder on the inside of the brake drums, I bolted them together with all-thread. I don’t know exactly what happened between the two. Cleaned multiple times with brake cleaner (twice), then with denatured alcohol. One thing I remember doing though, is forgetting to charge the rear hub through part of my spraying it. Could that be the culprit?

I also need a tip on stripping powder coating. I read gasket remover works well and it did a fair job…but what can I do at a home hobbyist level and not tear up the bank. I don’t mind spending a few hundred on chemicals and maybe a recirculation pump of sorts…but welcome any ideas you guys have.

Many thanks for any input good or bad!

Rick
