Reprochrome problems

Posted by admin on April 8th, 2010 at 12:05am

Hi I am triing to get the reprochrome kit to plate and so far having lots or troubles. I initially got it to get a brighter plate of parts that I copychrome. I have run the dummy 40 sq/in about 25 mins as was suggested (.07 amp per sq/in) and this did look pretty bad (as I was told it would) But when I go over a piece that I had copychromed after activating the part all it does is come out dull. Though it does buff up, It really does not appear to be any brighter and I am not sure it any of the reprochrome is on it. I assume that since it is only plated for 1-2 mins it does not leave a very thick coating . It does fizzle of rather quickly when dipped in muradit acid. The PH is at 9.8 (a touch low) but it is a new kit and I followed all directions to a "T". Any suggestions to get this kit to work properly would be greatly appreciated. thanks John
