nobi with a few questions….

Hi all, been looking for a few weeks and have now plucked up courage to post a couple of questions…..
I work as a sub-contract fabricator, one of my main clients has asked me to go on the books and run his workshop for him, its a long story but in short he has a gas fired oven (aprox 20×8x8 foot) that i ripped out of his old industrial unit a year ago, he’s now got a new unit and i’m re-building everything.
this oven was a commercial produced unit but has no viewing windows…..as i understand it, its no good just "dialling-in" the temp on the PID because theres no way of monitoring metal temp, is this right? and if so, whats the best way to retro-fit viewing windows?
as an oven of this size takes a lot of gas to fire it puts the cost of small "one-off" jobs sky high, i’m thinking of fab’ing a small (3×3x7 internal size) oven, i have 3-phase power (415 volt up 100 amp) but from what i’ve read i guess around 4kw would heat this is my thinking right? i can get 2kw elements with built in fans (commercial catering ovens) so would 3 of these, one on each phase work well?
Thanks in advance, Ash
