Masking tips and techniques wanted??

Im looking for some tips and tricks on masking. It is a long slow process and im looking to speed it up. Does anyone have any tips /tricks or ideas? Also materials you are using to mask? I just did a set of rims flat black with a red lip but spent almost 1 hr per wheel masking and the first time i took it off it ruined the red underneath it.
