Masking Tips

A Customer asked for a black/white job, black base, with white masking of his logo.
I’ve done a few masked, but since this is a logo, I’ll have to use masking tape and not rubber cement. And also since its white, I’ll have to apply it before dying black.
I was wondering, what do you guys use for applying tape to projects, on your hands I mean. I was thinking latex gloves, but not sure on that.
Since I’m applying directly to the anodized layer, will it damage the layer and screw up the white? Like, any glue from the tape seep into the pores and ruin the white effect, tint it yellow or whatever the glue colour is.
Also, just a general rule. How long is it roughly safe to have an anodized part out drying? I know to let it dry before applying the mask, but how long until the pores begin to close and it ruins the second colour?
And, to help it dry, can I use cold air from a fan to help dry? I’m assuming don’t put it next to the furnace to dry as that will close the pores haha.
