Marks during Dying Process

Posted by admin on December 29th, 2009 at 07:27am

I seem to be having the same problem with a few colours. The photo shows my pieces after sealing. As soon as I place the pieces in the dye I can see spots on the surface, it resembles grains of dirt. Then after sealing the spots have remained and result in slightly darker specks of the dye. It doesn’t happen every time, and my dyes have all been premixed and I stir them before pouring dye in saucepans for heating. Any ideas what could be causing this, it has just happened with the last three dye colours I have used.
