Little Giant HC Agitation

Hey guys, I ordered myself a Little Giant HC pump for my tank agitation. I was wondering if theres any certain measurements I need to take before setting it up? I was reading around and people were talking about filters, but I don’t know what for.
Is there a type of filter I need? Or do I just hook it straight up and allow it to pump the acid bath?
