How to remove aluminum coating on aluminum base material

I might be in the wrong frum for this but I’m desperately seeking for answer.
Can anybody suggest how can i remove aluminum coating (thru arc spray) on aluminum base material?
I tried sand blasting usng white aluminum oxide but the coating bond strength is really strong.
Chemical stripping without harming the base material? Did anybody try before?
Please advice. Thks!
