Finishing Steel Kitchen Countertop

I need some advice on finishing a newly sandblasted steel kitchen counter. What are my options if I don’t want to varnish, polyurethane, paint, or powder coat?
I don’t want a real waxy or oily finish but do want to protect from stains and rust.
What products do you recommend?
