Complete newbie, HELP!

Hi
Great forum.
I want to start polishing up old filing cabinets, steel ammo boxes, old steel theatre lights etc but have no idea where to start or what I need (equipment wise).
I have a steel chest at the shot blasters now and they are going to low pressure blast it to get rid of the paint and rust. What would you recommend I start with? I dont want a mirror shine just a sheen on steel really. Obviously some items are large so I was thinking of an angle grinder/ polisher but have no idea about mops and compounds.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Taipan
