Brush plating with black chrome

Can you achieve a "factory style" look chrome emblems on vehicles? Tried to do this both with chrome on and also removing "stripping" the chrome but cannot get it to apply. Same goes for copy chrome. I can get the fast gold to work but finish always seems dull.
