Black particles in ano tank

I have just started up the agitation in the ano tank after letting it sit for about 2 months when I did the last anodising and noticed black specs floating in the acid also notice the aluminium plates at the sides were paper thin they have been in there for about 18 months so it must be time to change them.
Can anyone tell if the black spes are from the plates and do I have to filter them out or is it ok to leave them
