Automotive trim

I have head light trim bezzels and pot metal emblems, nut and bolts plastic arm rests and carb parts i would like to recoat. However, i do not know where to start. I am sure someone has done this before so i like to get some insight on what to use as a coating. These are all from a 69 Roadrunner in restoration mode. I read the pages on power requirments and can handle the tech part but not so sure where to begin with the coating and repair on the pot metal pitting. What do you purchase from a chamical stand point to match the orginal finish is a start? Polishing is not an issue either
Thanks in advance.
