Aquarium titanium chiller

I used my 1hp titanium chiller no problem for the past 3 years but I let the acid sit in the chiller for 6 months and I have gray liquid coming out when I flush it out with water. Is this the core breaking down?

Please let me know I want to know how badly damaged my unit is if it is damaged at all.
