Acid Tank Materials

From the looks of most of they photos, plastic is the material of choice. But has anyone tried or had success with glass fish tanks? I dont know what the material is they use to seal the panels together, assuming its silicone calk, but I have no clue.

I just figure they are cheap online and in the classifieds and they look nice….if ascetics counts for anything.
