Hey guys been lurking for quite some time now and been powdering for a little bit with some success. Lately, I’ve been having some problem with what seems like "disappearing powder" or I think it might shrink to the middle. For example: when I do a valve cover, it sits on one of the grates from my over in my booth. I coat it from top to bottom and then move it to the oven. 20-25 mins later when I take it out, the sides of the valve cover look like they barely got covered. It kinda fades from the bottom to the top!
Any ideas what might be going on here?

Hi Im new to the forum but not to powdercoating,,going on 6 years part time now,,Im starting plans for another oven build(I built my first one also),Planning a 6×6x10 oven,if my figures are right I need 42840 BTU for this oven and 12551 watts.Im thinking 6,2100 watt elements recessed into the walls and maybe 2 more 2100 watts on another circuit just for faster pre heat in the morning.I can shut these down after heat up and then just use 6 for baking..I have some faults in my first build and want to make this one right,Does this make sense? I appreciate any help and Im sure you will be hearing more from me,,Thanks in advance for ur help,,Dawgs Custom Powdercoat

hello, i’m slowly getting to the final parts of my oven but need a little extra help on where to place things. first is the blower to circulate the air.
in this picture you can see a horizontal peice i put in on the back wall..i was thinking that is where i’m going to mount my motor (it’s a oil cooled 3 speed motor from a propane pizza oven for curculating air in those ovens) i have a couple regular 5 blade fans and 2 squirll cage fans (no houseings) i’m wondering if the regular 5 blade fan would work if it was mounted on the inside and set up so it would pull the air rather then push. also i’m wondering if i need a vent in the oven or seal it up air tight (or as air tight as possible)
then my final question for now is i’m putting 3 -2500 watt elements on the bottom mounted on the walls. i’ve read about people putting heat sheilds over them. just wondering if someone could post some pics or something to i could see what’s been done for that. thanks in advance
